Express unveils Express Archives, bringing back iconic ’90s and early 2000s reissues from Express and Structure in a dual-gender collection designed to seamlessly cross both men’s and women’s wardrobes.
Express Archives captures a moment when relaxed proportions, bold graphics, utility details and bootcut denim defined menswear. Returning at a time when those design codes feel newly relevant across men’s and women’s fashion, the pieces can be styled true to the era or mixed and layered with a modern point of view. Whether worn oversized, fitted or somewhere in between, the collection gives longtime fans the chance to rediscover old favorites while inviting a new generation to make them their own.
“Express Archives gave us the opportunity to revisit a defining chapter in our design history—including Structure, our former menswear brand,” said Chris Scalzo, Group Vice President of Men’s Merchandising and Design at Express. “Structure has an enduring place in the memories of longtime customers, and we were struck by how relevant the original Express and Structure pieces still feel. We stayed true to the fits, colors and details that made them distinctive, so the collection feels authentic to the era and completely right for now.”
Collection highlights include The ’95 Color Block Sweatshirt, crafted in lightweight fleece with a vintage boxy cut and archival chest graphic; The ’98 Utility Cargo Pant, made from rugged cotton twill with relaxed shaping and authentic mid-’90s pocketing; and The ’01 Rugby Stripe Polo, an exact reissue in heavyweight cotton jersey with retro yarn-dyed stripes and a crisp twill collar.
The capsule also includes The ’98 Corduroy Pullover, The ’94 Lightweight Twill Coat, The ’96 Canvas Field Jacket, The ’96 Bootcut Jean and The ’98 Heavy-Stitch Jean. Rooted in menswear but designed for individual expression, the collection’s relaxed silhouettes and oversized proportions offer styling possibilities across men’s and women’s wardrobes.
To show how the archive lives now, Express is partnering with menswear creators Jon Alan, Grant Solis and Nicolas Herbert, who will each style the collection through their own point of view. Express is also partnering with professional athlete Kamari Lassiter, who will wear select pieces from the capsule for a game-day tunnel arrival, bringing the reissued designs onto a stage that has become a modern menswear runway of its own.
“What I love about the Express Archives collection is how effortlessly these pieces fit into my current wardrobe,” said Jon Alan, Menswear Stylist and Content Creator behind @jonsjawns. “I’m always looking for ways to play with proportions and textures, and styling these vintage fits with modern staples gives you an effortless look that feels both retro and current.”
Through archival-inspired storytelling across Express digital and social channels, the launch will connect the collection’s original era with the people wearing it today. Priced from $64 to $188, Express Archives is available beginning September 14 at express.com and in select Express stores nationwide.
