BAYAMÓN, Puerto Rico, Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Fintech pioneer Celligence today announced a $100 million investment from real estate finance firm Mortgage Treasury to scale AngelAi, its platform for automating complex financial decisioning and transactions. Unlike AI tools designed primarily to answer questions or assist financial professionals, AngelAi allows users – from individual home buyers to enterprise lenders – to execute transactions through a conversational experience. For mortgages, the platform can guide a consumer through the entire loan process, from application and validation to processing, underwriting, and servicing.
Developed by Celligence and drawing on Sun West Mortgage Company’s more than four decades of expertise, AngelAi has grown to more than 400,000 users and 200,000 transactions and its intellectual property portfolio has been independently valued at $119 billion. At its core is Celligence’s Transactional Language Model (TLM), designed to turn conversations into reliable transactions. This technology enables AngelAi to back its financial decisioning with a warranty, giving consumers greater certainty when it matters most.
“Our vision is to change how people interact with financial institutions through intelligent and empathetic AI,” said Pavan Agarwal, founder and CEO of Celligence and AngelAi and CEO of Sun West Mortgage Company. “This investment will amplify cross selling and network effects to make AngelAi the dominant consumer finance and mortgage app. With the shared vision of Mortgage Treasury, we are positioned to widen product capabilities, enhance our deep-learning architecture, and simplify the financial experience for millions of people.”
The investment comes as financial institutions increasingly look to AI to reduce the cost and complexity of high-friction transactions. AngelAi automates those workflows while maintaining the accuracy, compliance and individualized decisioning required for financial services. By lowering the cost of processing and underwriting, the platform makes financial products, including mortgages, more accessible to a broader range of consumers.
“In a dynamic financial landscape, efficiency, accuracy, and trust are paramount,” shared John D. Waiheʻe III, the former governor of Hawaii and Chief Executive Officer of Mortgage Treasury. “AngelAi delivers on all three fronts by removing traditional obstacles in loan originations and secondary market transactions. We believe that AngelAi is shaping the future of financial services, and we are proud to stand behind their visionary team.”
AngelAi plans to allocate resources toward four initiatives:
- Expanding access to U.S. homeownership: With casual chat messaging, consumers can receive immediate, fair, and low-cost mortgages.
- Growing AngelAi’s user base: The company will accelerate adoption across the socio-economic spectrum with the long-term goal of reaching 100 million active users.
- Scaling AI Infrastructure and R&D: The investment will deepen AngelAi’s predictive analytics engine, suite of financial products, and infrastructure to support international regulatory frameworks.
- Expanding into Global Markets: AngelAi plans to grow its footprint across North and South America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific where there is high demand for streamlined real estate finance technology.
“Our study into the current state of lending concluded that the only way to source pristine credit assets for our investors is that those assets are manufactured by AngelAi’s Transactional Language Model, where there is no possibility of contaminating the asset quality with human bias and errors,” added Mr. Tomoyuki Nakano, Board Member of Mortgage Treasury. “AngelAi has raised the expectations of AI from theoretical capability to completing multi-step, multi-discipline processes that are traditionally completed by large teams of humans. We anticipate tremendous cross-border opportunities.”
Celligence will continue expanding AngelAi’s capabilities beyond traditional mortgage workflows, with the goal of creating a single AI-powered platform through which consumers can access and execute a broader range of financial services.
