Overroute, an AI-native freight execution company built for large carriers and logistics operators, today announced it has raised $5.5 million in funding led by UP.Partners, with participation from EIC Rose Rock, 1834 Ventures, Tulane Ventures, and others.
Overroute will use the new funding to accelerate its product roadmap and staffing to serve additional large fleets. Today, Overroute’s technology is deployed across the freight network of J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (Nasdaq: JBHT), where it was collaboratively developed and has helped operators deliver millions of loads.
“Enterprise freight suffers from many AI pilots that never make it into daily operations. We built Overroute inside real operations, with real data and real operators,” said Alex Reed, CEO of Overroute. “We’ve validated Overroute inside one of the largest and most complex freight networks in North America. This funding gives us the capacity to take what we’ve learned there, continue investing aggressively in the product, and bring it to more enterprise fleets.”
Overroute builds specialized AI agents leveraging skilled operators to automate the repetitive coordination work surrounding freight execution, including monitoring loads, handling exceptions, scheduling deliveries, communicating with drivers, and updating customers. Through its proprietary platform, agents connect to carriers’ existing systems and data streams, allowing operators to continue working within the tools they already use.
“After decades in logistics, I’ve learned that great technology only matters if it works in the operation,” said Will Urban, Venture Partner at UP.Partners and Overroute board member. “What stands out about Overroute is that its AI is already working at scale, inside the people, workflows and systems that actually move freight. That kind of real-world validation is rare, and it’s why I believe Overroute has an opportunity to fundamentally improve how asset-based carriers operate.”
Overroute is now expanding its agent deployments and developing its broader freight planning and asset optimization supporting front-line operations.
