SAN FRANCISCO and PHOENIX, Aug. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Corgi Insurance and Trucker Path Insurance today launched the first trucking insurance program underwritten on route-planning data, exclusively available to Trucker Path users. The program draws on the Trucker Path app, used by more than 1.2 million professional drivers to plan their trips.

Corgi built the underwriting around Trucker Path’s proprietary navigation data.Participation is opt-in and driver-controlled, coverage includes auto liability, motor truck cargo, physical damage, general liability and Trucker Path Insurance serves as agent of record.

Severe weather and cargo theft corridors are among the most consistent loss drivers in trucking, and traditional underwriting reads both from the loss run after a claim. Trucker Path steers drivers around them in advance through truck-specific routing, hazard warnings, sharp-turn alerts, road closures, and lane restrictions. Those routing choices are made in the yard, before the truck moves, and they determine the exposure a fleet takes on. The underwriting draws on that planning data, and fleets that consistently route around known exposure are recognized for it.

Data-driven underwriting in trucking has concentrated among larger fleets, where telematics hardware is standard equipment. Hardware and subscription costs sit outside a six-truck budget, so operations running fewer than 10 trucks are underwritten on filings, loss history, and driver records alone. Trucker Path Insurance reaches those fleets through the app they already run, supplying the underwriting data from a platform its own parent company operates.
