Chaikin, Sherman, Cammarata & Siegel Partners Joseph Cammarata and Allan M. Siegel recognized once again as Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers Top 100 in 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C., DC, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Partners Joseph Cammarata and Allan M. Siegel have again been named to the Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers Top 100 for 2026 — the annual list of the 100 highest-ranked attorneys drawn from that year’s Super Lawyers selections in the District, itself a subset of a group already limited to a small share of the region’s practicing lawyers. Both partners return to the Top 100 in 2026, each extending a multi-year consecutive run on the list.

Joseph Cammarata

Over more than four decades, Mr. Cammarata has tried and argued cases well beyond the ordinary injury docket — from serious brain injury and wrongful death claims to medical malpractice, motor-vehicle collisions, and high-profile civil rights and sexual assault matters. He is dual board-certified in Civil Trial Advocacy and Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

He represented seven women in Green, et al. v. Cosby 14-30211-MGM, a defamation action filed in 2014 in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts after the women were publicly branded as liars for coming forward with allegations of sexual assault. The matter was resolved in 2019. He also served as co-counsel to Paula Jones in Clinton v. Jones, 520 U.S. 681 (1997), in which the United States Supreme Court ruled unanimously that a sitting president is not immune from civil litigation over conduct unrelated to the office. Across both matters runs a principle Mr. Cammarata has returned to throughout his career: every person is entitled to the same access to justice as any defendant, however powerful.

In 2026, he was selected for the Virginia Lawyers Hall of Fame, Class of 2026, by Virginia Lawyers Weekly — an honor reserved for attorneys who have practiced for thirty or more years and made lasting contributions to the profession, with roughly twenty-five to thirty-three attorneys chosen each year from among the tens of thousands who practice across the Commonwealth. He was named 2025 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C., an association he has also served as Past President. Beyond the courtroom, he co-founded the Brain Injury Association of Washington, D.C., and authored the District of Columbia’s Athletic Concussion Protection Act of 2011.

Mr. Cammarata has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2007 and has appeared on the D.C. Super Lawyers Top 100 for the eleventh consecutive year.. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2019. He has been recognized by Washingtonian magazine among the region’s top attorneys in every survey year since 1997, holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and earlier received the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and the Outstanding Attorney Award from the U.S. Department of Justice (1989).

Allan M. Siegel

Mr. Siegel has built his practice handling difficult cases against well-funded institutional opponents — transit authorities, trucking companies, hospitals, and their insurers. His work centers on automobile, tractor-trailer, and commercial-vehicle negligence, bus and transit litigation, premises liability, and medical malpractice. Over more than thirty years, he has tried or settled well over a thousand cases in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. He is board-certified in Civil Trial Law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.

He has been named one of Washington’s Top Lawyers by Washingtonian Magazine in every survey year since 2004, and has appeared on the D.C. Super Lawyers Top 100 for the eighth consecutive year (2019–2026), and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America every year since 2019. He was named the 2024 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. — an association he also served as Past President.
Mr. Siegel serves on the Board of Governors of the American Association for Justice, a national organization of plaintiffs’ trial lawyers dedicated to preserving the constitutional right to a jury trial and to educating attorneys across the country. He is Past Chair of the AAJ Bus Litigation Group, current Chair of the AAJ Distracted Driving Litigation Group, and Chair-Elect of the AAJ Rideshare Litigation Group, and he is in line to chair the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group and the AAJ Brain Injury Litigation Group.

How the Super Lawyers Top 100 is selected

Super Lawyers uses a multi-phase process that combines peer nominations, independent research, and evaluation by a panel of attorneys. No more than five percent of the lawyers in a state are selected in a given year, and the Top 100 is a further subset of that group. The publication does not accept payment for inclusion, and lawyers cannot apply on their own behalf. That structure — independent methodology, no pay-to-play — is why the recognition carries weight with clients, courts, and other attorneys, and why the firm treats it as a meaningful signal rather than a marketing badge.
