Ally Medical ER Unleashes the Final Stretch of Its Pet Supply Drive with Over 7,000 Donations and a Dog Named Ally Bear

AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 27, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ally Medical Emergency Room has surpassed its previous donation record in its annual Pet Supply Donation Drive, with donation bins filling up at all 12 locations.
The drive benefits Austin Pets Alive!, Dallas Pets Alive! and Houston Pets Alive! through August 31, and Ally Medical ER is calling on community members to stop by, give what they can, and spread the word. And to keep the momentum going, they helped a shelter dog find a home.
In honor of the drive, Ally Medical ER waived the adoption fee for Ally Bear, a 3-month-old puppy at Austin Pets Alive! named after the ER’s beloved teddy bear mascot. She was adopted within 24 hours. Her happy ending shows exactly what donations make possible for rescue organizations caring for at-risk animals from overcrowded shelters, and it’s the kind of impact Ally Medical ER hopes will inspire its communities to give. Caring for neighbors beyond the ER’s walls is what the drive is all about.

How to Donate
Community members can bring new, unopened pet supplies to any Ally Medical Emergency Room location through August 31. Requested items include:
- Dry and canned dog and cat food, including small bags for community pet pantries
- Pet toys, treats, chews and enrichment items
- Blankets and towels
- Collars, leashes and harnesses
- Cat litter, cat scratchers, and food and water bowls
- Potty pads
